This is one of two gardens, one named Upper Barracca and the other Lower Barracca, facing the Grand Harbour. Both offer a panoramic view of the Grand Harbour. The Upper Barracca Gardens offer the best view since they’re more centered and at a much higher level. The garden was the gift of an eighteenth-century knight. The Anglican Garrison Church partly intrudes upon it. The garden is built on top of a demi-bastion. The Grand Harbour side of the Gardens is surrounded by a wrought-iron fence. The view of the harbour from this vantage point is magnificent and many people spend hours taking in the site.
An arcade on the same side gives this area the feeling of a balcony. A number of statues, monuments and plaques fill the gardens. A small fountain full of water-lilies and gold fish is located at the center of the garden.
Mediterranean Conference Centre
The Mediterranean Conference Centre is Malta’s largest and has the indoor capacity to cater for a dinner of 1,800 at the same time. For over two centuries, the building was the ‘Sacra Infermeria’ or Holy Infirmary of the Order of St John. Constructed in the late 16th Century, this architectural landmark has had a fascinating history which has seen its role change with the needs of the day.
It is an impressive venue housing what was for several centuries Europe’s largest hall. Below this lies a vaulted hall that transforms into atmospheric venue for large-scale dining and entertaining.
Island Caterers have over the years hosted gala dinners at the Mediterranean Conference Centre for large MICE groups as well as state banquets for visiting head’s of governments and royalty. This beautiful venue steeped in history and inspiring architecture is the perfect location for events held on the island.

Villa Bologna, Attard
Villa Bologna is a dream-like aristocratic villa surrounded by pristine grounds. Villa Bologna is one of the most elegant and grand of Malta’s fine aristocratic houses. Dating back to 1745, it was built as a dowry for a count’s daughter. It has been lovingly cared for over the centuries, and embellished in the 1930s with elegant gardens with fountains, ponds, pergolas, a citrus grove and lawns, all of which are accessible to guests. The villa today retains its almost fairly-tale atmosphere in a quiet setting at the centre of Malta near the Presidential Palace and gardens of San Anton in Attard.
The beauty of the venue is that it easily accommodates large groups of up to 1,200 in the grounds.
Razzett L-Abjad, San Gwann
Ir-Razzett L-Abjad is a typical Maltese farmhouse located at the centre of the island. It offers a unique setting with all the character, charm and tradition of a rural farmhouse of yesteryear. The reception area, for example, is cut in rock and formed from part of the original stables. With its grapevine covered poolside area, balustraded terraces, rustic details, open-air ovens and barbecue areas, Ir-Razzett l-Abjad is an unforgettable setting that lends itself to a variety of functions and events, including corporate and conference themed events and wedding receptions.
Ir-Razzett L-Abjad can cater easily for both outdoor and indoor functions, with a capacity of up to 450 and 2,000 respectively. With an overall area of two acres, the complex is fully equipped to handle any type of activity, and its grounds also include parking facilities for coaches.
Meridiana Wine Estate Ta’ Qali

The building housing the winery is based on an original traditional Maltese farmhouse including an underground cellar as well as function rooms and extensive terraces overlooking the attractive 19 hectare estate.
As a venue the estate offers a variety of themed events for groups, both large and small, including winery tours and wine tastings, and is also used to host other functions such as car launches, fashion shows, weddings and other receptions.
