The Mediterranean Conference Centre

The 16th century building now the Mediterranean Conference Centre (MCC) has long been one of Valletta’s most remarkable landmarks. Located towards the tip of Valletta peninsula the MCC enjoys magnificent views across the Grand Harbour. The sensitive and innovative restoration won the international acclaim with the coveted ‘Europa Nostra’ Award for its successful blending of the fine old architecture with modern technology. This coupled with its sheer size and scale makes the MCC an attractive dedicated venue. The Mediterranean Conference Centre is a rare example in the region of a heritage building functioning to the exacting demands of the 21st century. The Centre’s long experience and reputation as a unique quality venue is confirmed by it’s membership of the prestigious Historic Conference Centres of Europe (HCCE). The Mediterranean Conference Centre is one of Europe’s largest conference centres within a historical setting.

In addition to conferences, it offers one of the finest venues in the Mediterranean for a range of events including product launches, exhibitions, conventions, banquets and theatrical performances. The Centre boasts impressive spaces, such as Republic Hall the main auditorium which seats 1,400 in theatre style, the elegant and unique La Vallette Hall that offers an imposing banqueting venue for up to 900, as well as a host of individually-styled smaller halls suited for receptions and more modest-scale conferences and seminars. In total, the Centre offers an area of over 7,000 square meters.

When it comes to providing receptions and banqueting, Island Caters offers an exclusive dining experience with a capacity of up to 4,000 covers a day.

Malta Fairs & Convention Centre

The Malta Fairs & Convention Centre (MFCC) is Malta’s largest international conference and exhibition venue and offers a blank canvas for creating any kind of event. The 7000m2 venue can host everything from large scale conferences to gala dinners, a concert for 10,000, a motor exhibition, a fashion show or an art installation. The venue’s in-house rescources, expertise and flexibility offer a complete support network that can deliver all requirements to the highest standards.

The Tension Fabric Structure

MFCC is a spacious high-ceilinged space which provides conference and meeting organisers the space to create stunning events. With a capacity of 2,500 tiered seats and 7,500 flat seats for delegates, MFCC can be used for large or small conferences.

Conferences and Incentives

MFCC has a range of in-house or locally available support services to make bringing an event to MFCC in Malta easier and more cost effective. If organisers prefer to bring in their own preferred specialists, staff will do everything to support them with event expertise and local knowledge.

Concerts and Music Events

MFCC has hosted concerts by some of the leading artists including Andrea Bocelli, Michael Bolton, Faithless, Sean Paul, Albano, Marco Masini, Simply Red, Lucio Dalla, Renzo Arbore and the Malta Song for Europe Festival.

MFCC is Malta’s only arena sized covered venue with the ability to hold large scale concerts, with seated or standing audiences. The versatility of the venue, with specially constructed rigging points giving a roof capacity exceeding 100 tons, means it can accomodate the most spectacular productions. There is a network of local production partners, including staging, lighting, sound, projection and ticketing to support incoming promoters and artists, with local crew and in house production support team.

Whether used as an arena style venue, or with smaller stages for award ceremonies or private concerts, MFCC has both the rigging and staging facilities to hold every size event. It is also available to hire as a pre-production and pre-tour rehearsal space.

Exhibitions

As the largest exhibition centre in Malta, MFCC can be used as one large exhibition hall, with 6,500m2 of uninterrupted space, plus an additional 500m2 of adjacent space. Alternatively, the venue can be divided into different halls and seminar theatres to suit the requirements of any client. Whether the exhibition has structured shell schemes or customized stands, MFCC gives organisers the flexibility to create a show with easy access for exhibitors and easy navigation for visitors with catering and bar facilities.

Set

MFCC can source a range of talented set designers and builders on the island, ranging from simple truss, curved truss to bespoke set builds, with full CAD support through the creative process.

Staging and Rigging

MFCC has three 35ton moveable arches that will facilitate the rigging of production and set infrasctructure. MFCC has a flexible stage decking system that can create any size stage.

Catering and Bar

Event kitchens are adjacent to the main bar so that anything from canapes to sandwiches or 6 course gourmet meals can be provided. There is a full bar service available.

Security

A local team of trained security guards ensure the venue remains safe and secure, while also giving guests and public a friendly welcome.

Power

MFCC has a purpose built supply and ancillary generator area that means any size of event can be given the appropriate, safe electrical supply. In house electricians can give advise and ensure safe installation of electrical supplies, distribution and cabling.

Carpeting

A range of carpets to suit budgets and corporate colours are available.

Shell Scheme

There is a range of shell scheme for module exhibition stands.

Seating

MFCC has the ability to create tailored seating configurations to suit every event. From in the round style seating and conference set ups through to concert layouts and gala dinners, MFCC has both its own stock of seating as well and the resources to provide executive and luxury seating when required.
